Guaranteed places - Between them the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University and Liverpool Hope University own halls of residence right across the city centre as well as in the surrounding suburbs. Except for... - The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), however, is a much smaller university and as such does not have any of its own halls - so students studying at LIPA will have to look for private accommodation.

Something for everyone - Prices and facilities range greatly across all halls in the city, though for the larger universities there are the usual choices between catered or self catered and en-suite or shared bathrooms. Student accommodation in Liverpool: Private houses

Where to live? - When students who are no longer first years return to Liverpool the most common option is to move into private houses in the city. In a city as big as Liverpool you can find appropriate accommodation almost everywhere, however over time a few areas have become more student-centric than others. The Wavertree and Allerton areas are particularly popular amongst returning students - both containing a number of bars and restaurants.

Who can help? - All four universities help to fund a website called Liverpool Student Homes. LSH is the only official private sector student accommodation service in Liverpool, providing information about all types of accommodation including houses, flats and larger private developments. Using this site you can search for houses by area, number of housemates and weekly rent to find the perfect home for you and your friends.

Or... - Alternatively you can go direct to the numerous letting agents found around the city - for information on which companies are reputable, as well as more general information about student accommodation in Liverpool, visit your university’s student union.
