Security breaches and data theft just can’t seem to stay out of the headlines for long.
Professional networking site, LinkedIn, is the most recent victim of the online hacking community with data – including email addresses and passwords - being sold all over the internet.
But how do we know whether we should be worried or not?
Well, luckily, Troy Hunt – a security researcher and founder of a breach notification website – has managed to get his hands on the stolen data and is inviting people to check whether theirs is in the pile.
All you have to do is head over to haveibeenpwned.com and put in your email address and you’ll be able to find out whether your details are there.
Though Troy warns that the website is not totally comprehensive it does contain a vast amount of data from Adobe, Ashley Madison and LinkedIn to name a few.
It’s worth double checking.
Better safe than sorry - you wouldn’t want someone fiddling with your ASOS basket, after all.
