Man with low IQ banned from sex

High Court Judge deems his 'vigorous sex drive' inappropriate

A man with an IQ of 48 has been banned from having sex, after the council said he did not understand what he was doing.

The 41-year-old, known only as Alan, was in a relationship with a man and told officials he would be 'happy' for it to continue.

However, the judge ruled that Alan did not have the mental capacity to know about health risks and should not continue having sex.

A psychiatrist involved in the case said the man shouldn't be given sex education because it would leave him 'confused'.
