Humans have been responsible for some life-changing breakthroughs over the centuries - the creation of the wheel, the discovery of penicillin, the internet.
But just wait until you hear (and see) this genius who figured out how to deep fry water.
So maybe we're giving Jonathan Marcus of Massachusetts too much credit for his efforts, or perhaps it's as incredible as it sounds - he attempted to deep fry water, and it worked.
Check out the intriguing video of how he did it below.
While the experiment worked, we can't quite decide if this is an ingenious world first or whether it's the most obviously achievable thing there ever was.
But wait. Just in case you're wondering how the hell he did it, he actually coated a ball of water (not an ice cube) in egg, flour, and breadcrumbs before carefully placing it in the fryer.
Mind. Officially. Blown.
