Delete your MySpace account - THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

MySpace is no longer just your space.

Ah the good old days, when all you had to fear from your childhood MySpace page was pictures of your greasy-looking hairstyle and your intense musings on the latest Deathcab for Cutie song.

But those days are gone, thanks to the the news that personal information obtained by hackers during serious data leaks at MySpace in 2013 is now being sold on the darknet.

On Friday, about 360 million sets of account details were sold to the highest bidder. This information included email addresses, passwords and usernames. It totalled 33 gigabytes, which for a mainly text file is - we presume - a hell of a lot of gigabytes.

Now we know that most of you probably aren't still using your address, and your passwords probably aren't Sugababes lyrics any more. But if there's a chance that you've reused your details anywhere else, you'd better get deleting pronto.

At the very least, it'll stop pictures of your mid-teen mullet from showing up in the Daily Mail once you're Prime Minister. And that's got to be a good thing.
