When Adidas recently posted an Instagram featuring a same sex couple, most of us loved it.
Featuring two women leaning in for an off-screen kiss, it had the caption "The love you take is equal to the love you make."
But depressingly predictably, it received a small number of homophobic comments.
Some accused the company of, er, "taking sides".
"Company’s should not take sides on these types of topics this is so f*cking stupid" (sic) wrote one.
Another said: "Shame on you adidas!!! I’m going to Nike now".
(Oh no, what will Adidas do without them?)
But the person manning Adidas' Instagram took it in their stride that day - after one person posted "WTF Adidas? This day is for boy and girl, when they are a couple. Not for lesbians, stupid adidas", they simply replied with this:
"No, this day is for LOVE. Happy Valentine’s Day".
The post’s been liked over 218,000 times. Good job, Adidas.
